I decided to spend my birthday writing. A 3699-word burst took me all the way to the end of Section One. At this point the novel stands at 28,691 words.
And here I enter terra incognita. I had an excellent idea of what happened in the first part of the book. After all, this is at least the third time I’ve written this same story. Now, however, arrives the question of what happens next. I’ve got some vague ideas, but the rest of the novel isn’t firmly plotted at this point.
In a way that’s exciting. I’m actually looking forward to writing purely from my imagination and experience, without using a previous draft or even a familiar structure as a crutch.
